process group for breakups

Join us for an 8-week therapy group

a space to process the end of a meaningful relationship
in community with others who get it

October 29th, 2025 - December 17th, 2025
Wednesdays 6 - 8 pm in-person in Fremont

why join a breakup process group?

You’re experiencing the end of a significant relationship. Maybe you’re in the midst of a painful grief process - there’s sadness, anger, confusion, fear, uncertainty about who you are on your own and how to exist in the world now. Maybe others in your life have moved on and are expecting you to do the same, but you’re in need of support and space to be with others who understand what you’re going through.

Group therapy provides a space to witness and be witnessed in shared experience, to be in community when everything feels like it’s falling apart. Group provides an opportunity to receive real-time reflection and support from members and facilitator(s).

grief and love are sisters, woven together from the beginning. Their kinship reminds us that there is no love that does not contain loss and no loss that is not a reminder of the love we carry for what we once held close.”

more details:

  • The group will meet weekly in-person in downtown Fremont on Wednesdays from 6 - 8 pm beginning October 29, 2025.

The group will last 8 weeks, with the final session on December 17, 2025.

Participants are expected to commit to the full eight weeks of group to support consistency and community-building. We recognize one of the group dates is on the week of Thanksgiving, and we understand folks may need to miss or join group virtually on this week.

The address will be shared with participants after sign-up.

    Email chelsea@chelseagibsoncounseling.com with any questions.

  • The group is capped at 8 participants to ensure adequate time and space for all members and to support the creation of trust and intimacy in the group setting.

This group is open to all genders and identities - if you are processing the end of a significant relationship, you are welcome here.

This space is non-monogamous, kink, and queer affirming.

  • Each group will meet for two hours. This time will include a grounding exercise, a check-in with each member, and general space to process what is present that week with opportunity to receive reflection, feedback, and support from the participants and co-therapists.

  • $80 per weekly group session.

Each member will also be required to go through a 45-minute assessment with one of the co-therapists prior to joining. This assessment will cost $80.

    $80 × 8 sessions + $80 intake =
    $720 total investment

Sliding scale may be available to those experiencing ongoing financial instability.

Superbills for out of network insurance reimbursement will be provided at clients request.
